ENS Declarations

Safety & security entries for UK and Irish arrivals.

Entry Summary Declarations (ENS) are the safety and security layer of a customs entry. They travel ahead of the goods so the destination authority can risk-assess the consignment before it arrives. For UK imports from the EU the UK now requires an ENS, and for Irish imports the ICS2 safety and security regime applies. We lodge ENS declarations in line with the transport mode's cut-off windows, pair them with the import declaration and, where relevant, the PBN or GMR, and monitor any risk queries until the consignment is cleared to proceed.

Frequently asked

Is ENS the same as an import declaration?

No. ENS is the pre-arrival safety & security layer; the import declaration is the fiscal entry. Most movements need both.
